1960s Inspired Makeup Look- Matte base, Cut crease, Full lashes & Green shadow

Today at my Beauty Bar, I'm feelin' the 60s!

Yeah, baby! ;-)  One of my favorite things to do is collect vintage inspired makeup looks.  It's a thing.  I have a problem.   I love everything about this look.... the matte doll-like base, and a bold, cut crease eye makeup look.

Your Base-  As always, I start with an emollient moisturizer.  Next, I apply a primer, if I want my makeup to LAST ALL DAY AND NIGHT!  Next, I recommend using a flat foundation brush like this one to apply a CREAM foundation.  Why cream for this look?  You will get the most FLAWLESS high coverage from a cream.  This is why stage actors wear a cream foundation.  You can use cream for an every day foundation, though!  After all, this is all we ever had for foundation for decades!!!!  I would apply light strokes with the brush and then buff into my skin using my fingertips or my makeup sponge.  Next, apply this amazing concealer I came across that covers THE darkest under eye circles- it is a miracle worker!!

Eyebrows-  I always do my brows after my base because they frame your face and set the stage for the type of look you are trying to create.  These retro looks are all about the pencil.  I love this one because it has a spooley on it.  And, yeah.

Your Eyes-  Break our your favorite shadow base or paint pot.  This gives will make your shadow last all day and your colors blend together easier.  You are going to want to apply your green creamy eyeshadow all over your lids and through the crease.  You then create a cut crease look with a black shadow on a small tapered brush.  I like to dot small amounts of black shadow and blend it through with a shadow brush.  You WANT to leave the black there for it to be a real cut crease like the photo above!  Then, take your liquid liner and create a classic cat eye. NOW FOR THE MASCARA!  I can't say enough good things about the Mabeline Lash Sensational mascara.    They give your eyes the look of falsies INSTANTLY.  Every time I use it I am surprised.  And you have complete control of how thick they are.  So in love.

Your Lips-  I love the doll-like vibe of this look- and when it's all about the eyes, you usually want to keep the rest of your face pretty under-stated.  I found the perfect lip gloss for this look!!!

You can't go wrong with applying powder.  After all, this is a 60s look!!
